ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, School of Engineering-Sandbox Innovation Fund Program, to join an Institute-wide program that gives students hands-on experience with entrepreneurship. By awarding meaningful seed funding and coaching to student innovation teams, MIT Sandbox provides students with authentic opportunities to learn firsthand how to bring an idea to market. Will report directly to the executive director and work closely with students, staff, and faculty to serve as an operational hub that supports the daily operations of the program.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a high school diploma; a minimum of three years’ secretarial, office, or related experience; attention to detail; strong organizational and customer service skills; and the ability to proactively manage projects and time, prioritize competing demands, and communicate effectively with a range of constituents and stakeholders such as students and experienced volunteer mentors. Seek someone who is able to reflect the spirit of this growing program and wants to be a part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team. PREFERRED: bachelor's degree; MIT experience; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with others at all levels; proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, SAP, FileMaker Pro, and Cognos Fluid Review; comfort with both PCs and Macs; experience updating websites, arranging travel, and paying invoices; discretion and judgment with confidential information; problem solving and critical thinking skills; sensitivity to organizational dynamics and ability to collaborate with colleagues; and excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
