Applications are invited for a Senior Data Manager at the Cancer Research UK funded Centre for Cancer Prevention. The Unit is based within a group that is at the forefront of international research into the prevention and control of cancer. We have particularly active research programmes in breast, endometrial, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer prevention, cancer screening and statistical methods for clinical trials and epidemiology.
The post holder will be responsible for data management of long-term follow-up studies in breast cancer, with a particular focus on the day-to-day data management of the International Breast cancer Intervention Study II (IBIS-II). Priority tasks will include manipulation of data received electronically from external clients and dealing with data that results from closing down active research sites. The appointee will assist with procedures relating to trial co-ordination, including liaising with the study coordinators, junior data managers regarding data management/data collection, ensure patient confidentiality and that all requirements of the Data Protection Act are fulfilled.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Senior Lecturer in Medical Statistics and as part of a team consisting of a Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator, Data Managers, and Programmers.
Applicants must be educated to degree level, have extensive experience of data management for clinical trials, excellent project planning skills and a thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
The post is full time and fixed term for one year. Starting salary will be in the range £34,220 - £40,194 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
