The Student Affairs and Engagement team is dedicated to achieving this impact through developing and delivering effective, evidence-based programs and initiatives throughout the student life cycle in the areas of orientation, transition, academic advice and progression, leadership development and volunteering, student engagement, health and wellbeing, work integrated learning and careers.

As a Student Experience and Engagement Officer, you’ll provide administrative support for the successful delivery of our portfolio of student programs and activities.

About you

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, for preparing routine and more complex reports and correspondence;
  • highly developed interpersonal skills including building relationships and working in a client services and team environment;
  • sound judgment and initiative to prioritise and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment;
  • relevant experience at a higher education institution, or comparable commercial or government sector experience;
  • advanced level computer, desktop publishing and internet skills (including Microsoft Office, Filemaker Pro, Blackboard or other relational databases) and experience creating marketing materials using a variety of formats such as PowerPoint, In Design and Adobe
  • knowledge of issues relating to University Policy and experience in delivering advice and support to students.

The Student Affairs and Engagement portfolio supports the academic, professional and personal success of over 12,000 undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences through the delivery of a range of innovative engagement programs.
