FULL STACK DEVELOPERMIT Technology Review (MIT TR), to join a multidisciplinary product development team responsible for building and maintaining MIT TR’s digital products. Will bring experience with JavaScript (Node.js, Hapi, Next.js, and React), PHP, MySQL, Drupal and other technologies to bear on a full stack transition to a custom WordPress platform. Will help maintain and modify the current infrastructure and codebase while also joining the migration project in progress. Once the migration is complete, will play a key role in building a range of internal- and external-facing tools that will extend the editorial team's digital story-telling capabilities, equip the marketing and sales teams to engage with customers, and delight Technology Review's readers and event attendees.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  at least five years’ professional web development experience building responsive websites and custom applications; bachelor’s degree in a related field; professional experience developing custom solutions for WordPress; demonstrated fluency in PHP, WordPress, React, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, ES6+ JavaScript (especially Node.js), and webpack and experience using these tools in a professional context; comfort at the UNIX command line; experience using and integrating third-party APIs; familiarity with Git/GitHub and ability to carry out typical operations with it, including branching, merging, submitting code for peer review, and reviewing peer’s code; ability to meet delivery dates while writing good and readable code; ability and willingness to maintain documentation, tickets, and issue tracking; and strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with colleagues at all levels of seniority. Experience with Drupal a plus. Job #18092-9
