Job description

About the Programme

Community-led Open Publication Infrastructures for Monographs (COPIM) is a GBP 3.6M programme aiming to transform Open Access (OA) book publishing by delivering major improvements in the infrastructures used by OA book publishers and those publishers making a transition to OA books. COPIM's innovations will enable more productive collaborations between stakeholders (including librarians, publishers, and researchers) in the OA landscape and expand opportunities to develop the skills necessary to run OA publishing operations.

COPIM is supported by the Research England Development Fund (REDF) as a major development project in the Higher Education sector with significant public benefits. The project consolidates existing relationships among the international partners into a major strategic collaboration that will enhance the impact of research in England. At the same time, COPIM promotes a community-based approach for the collaboration of academic institutions and industry stakeholders. Finally, it develops innovative approaches for knowledge exchange activities to facilitate sustainable and workable transitions to an open publication ecosystem for monographs and to ensure a diverse ecology of publishers.

About the Role

The Centre for Postdigital Cultures is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to help deliver the programme. They will have overall responsibility for the delivery of COPIM's daily operations and activities, with the support of the Principal Investigator (PI) and reporting to COPIM's Senior Management Committee. Coventry University has a dedicated team (Research Management and Administration Unit) that will additionally support the PI and the Project Manager in their daily work in the project.

The role involves providing day-to-day support to the project team by establishing and maintaining a performance monitoring, governance and reporting process for all project activity, in line with funder and University requirements; to ensure targets are met, income is maximised, risks are minimised and compliance is observed, and to ensure the contribution to research outputs is achieved and maximised.

Prior experience in publishing environments is desirable.

As one of Coventry's biggest employers the University will provide an excellent benefits package and a personal and professional development programme that will help you to achieve your aspirations.
