The City University of Macau is conducting a global search for the position of Vice Rector responsible for Academic Affairs. The Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) is responsible for all academic-related matters in the University. Reporting directly to the Rector, the appointee will be expected to assume the following responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities include (but not limited to) 具體的職責(包括但不限於)

  • Leading all academic-related matters in the University;

領導大學所有的學術相關事務

  • Developing distinctive academic vision and responsible for the implementation of the University’s strategic plans;

制訂符合大學發展定位的學術願景及策略並負責大學相關計劃的實施

  • Advancing continuous development of the academic units, including academic program enhancement, recruitment and review of academic staff;

推動大學學術單位的持續發展,包括課程優化以及學術人員的聘用及評核

  • Ensuring high quality of teaching and holistic development of students;

確保學術單位的教學品質和學生的全人發展

  • Participating in university committees and community networks relevant to the University's academic related matters;

參與和大學學術事務相關的大學委員會和社區網絡

  • Coordinating all academic activities at local, national and international levels that are conducive to academic excellence and the University’s strategic direction;

協調有利於大學學術卓越及策略方針的學術活動,包括本地、國家及國際層面

  • Contributing to the University’s mission and advancing its international visibility.

Requirements 要求

  • An earned PhD degree and a full professor of international stature;

具博士學位的教授及國際知名的專家學者

  • Significant leadership experience (particularly in academic affairs) with at least 5 years’ experience at the level of Dean or above;

至少五年擔任院長或以上領導管理職務的經驗(尤其是學術事務方面)

  • Exceptional management and communication skills, with ability to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish organizational goals;

優秀的合作精神和管理能力,能激勵和引領多元人才團隊實現目標

  • Strong commitment in upholding academic quality and standard of the University;

堅定致力於維護大學學術素質和標準

  • Proactive and forward looking, adept at identifying trends and developments in higher education;

積極主動,具前瞻性,善於分析高等教育的發展趨勢

  • Excellent international, national and local networks with the academic, business, professional and public sectors;

在全球、國家和本地的學術、商務、專業領域及公共部門具豐富網絡

  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, knowledge of Cantonese or Portuguese will be an advantage.

需通曉英語及普通話,懂粵語和葡語更佳

Remuneration 福利

The remuneration will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s academic qualification, professional experience and current position. The candidate shall be entitled to free housing, medical benefits, annual leave, provident fund, other allowance. The compensation/benefits are competitive. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.

大學將根據獲聘者的學歷、專業經驗和當前職位提供具競爭力的薪資待遇。獲聘者可享有免費住宿、醫療福利、年假、公積金及其他津貼。澳門目前的最高所得稅率為 12%,如符合條件獲得一定程度減免,實際所得稅率約為 5%至 7%。

Review of applications and nominations will commence immediately. The position will remain open until filled. Applicants may consider their applications not successful if they were not invited for an interview within 6 months of submission. Successful candidate is expected to report duty in early 2020.
