About the team

The Department of Management & Organisations is renowned for its research capability in Organisational Behaviour, Human Resources/Employment Relations, International Business & Strategy, and Logistics/Transport & Information Management. It brings together a number of internationally recognized researchers, with a long history of staff holding highly competitive and prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Fellowships (Laureate, Future Fellow and Early Career) and Associate Editors for prestigious journals.

This position will be located in UWA Business School’s new Centre for Business Data Analytics. This new multidisciplinary Centre, founded in 2019, aims to be a world-leading centre of excellence in business analytics research and practice.

About the opportunity

As the successful appointee, you will contribute to research, course management, teaching and service in the area of business analytics within the Centre, Department of Management & Organisations and the wider Business School.

It is essential that you have expertise in business analytics research methods and teaching in core business analytics units at the Master’s level. Also essential is a strong interest in the application of business analytics to one or more of the major areas of management, including Logistics/Transportation & Information Management, Organisational Behaviour, Human Resources/Employment Relations, and International Business & Management Strategy. Program development experience is an advantage and evidence of excellence in teaching MBA students will be highly regarded.

You must have a flexible approach to learning and teaching, and the ability to engage in e-learning technologies with a willingness to work effectively with colleagues and industry stakeholders. An ability to supervise higher degree by research students and undertake research and/or knowledge transfer is essential.

To be considered for this role, you will possess:

  • PhD qualification in business analytics or a related discipline
  • Expertise in business analytics and one of the major areas of management
  • A strong research focus with an ability to publish in high quality journals
  • A personal commitment to, and evidence of, high quality teaching
  • A willingness to work effectively with colleagues and industry stakeholders
