Canes Centre Manager
The EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Cross-disciplinary Approaches to Non-Equilibrium Systems (CANES) was established in 2014. The Centre Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the CDT, supporting its students, training, and research. The Centre Manager will manage all aspects of the Centre’s PhD programme, the Centre’s events, operation and finance, and support the Directors in the preparation of reports and statistical data.
The successful candidate should have experience of administrative work ideally involving finance or research support within the Higher Education sector, or similar. They should be well organised and able to work independently, proactively and flexibly to lead their area of responsibility. They should be able to rapidly build working relationships across a large organisation to effectively support the Centre, understanding complex situations quickly and providing creative solutions.
The position would be a good opportunity for someone with experience of research student support or university departmental administration, to gain experience of managing finance and funding for a unit, alongside student support and research council reporting.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years, or until 31 October 2022, whichever is the earlier.
This is a part-time post - 60% full time equivalent.
The selection process will include a panel interview and an assessment.
