About the roles

The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London invites applications from scholars of international distinction for appointments in any fields in economics and finance. Positions are available across the academic levels: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader and Professor (equivalent to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor).

The successful candidates will be expected to contribute significantly to the development of the School’s research strategies, to be active in attracting research income and generating research impact, and to play a full role in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

The successful candidates must have a postgraduate degree (or be close to completion for Lecturer level applicants) and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience, together with a track record of high quality research appropriate to the level of appointment, and clear and ambitious plans for future research. Candidates should also have the ability to, and appropriate experience of, delivering teaching and assessment.

Salary and benefits

All the appointments are full-time and permanent, but consideration will be given to candidates seeking part-time positions. Salaries are competitive and not less than £42,433 per annum (Lecturer) or £55,840 per annum (Senior Lecturer / Reader) inclusive of London Allowance. Professorial salaries will be commensurate with level, skills and experience. In addition, these posts attract market supplements and there is discretion to apply between 35% and 50% of salary depending on current market conditions. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest free season ticket loan.
