About the Department

At the Khalifa University of Science and Technology, we offer students a modern educational program leading to a B.Sc. degree in Petroleum Geosciences. We have a strong research effort focused on local and regional geology. The Earth Geosciences Graduate Program at Khalifa University offers students the opportunity to pursue M.Sc. ad Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Geosciences.

The Department of Earth Sciences at Khalifa University is an internationally recognized center of excellence in education and research in petroleum geology and geophysics, and will be the leading university center of geosciences education, continuing education, and research in the Middle East. The Earth Sciences Department provides high-quality education in geology and geophysics to prepare students for a wide range of successful and socially and ethically responsible professional careers.

 Job Requirements

The candidate is expected to have a strong research potential, demonstrated by relevant publications in high-impact journals, and teaching experience in above mentioned areas. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills.

Successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels,establish and maintain active research programs that lead to peer-reviewed publications in high-impact professional journals, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.

Successful candidates are also expected to be involved in thematic research within one or more of the university research priority areas.

A PhD or equivalent doctorate in Geosciences with expertise in structural geology and related disciplines from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in pre-eminent institutions of higher education. Proven field mapping experience and or proficiency in geo-mechanics will be considered a plus.
