  • It is expected that the applicant is able to cover the span from the microclimate on the building surface to district and city level.
  • The research focus will extend from high-performance building concepts (e.g. zero emission building) with new and high-performing envelopes exploiting solar energy (e.g. BIPV, BAPV) to urban scale concepts such as smart districts and cities.
  • The topic holistically integrate knowledge about outdoor climate, energy use, building physics, renewable energy production, design and use of PV, building technology, building systems and embodied energy (life cycle assessment) - and competence/knowledge in several of these topics are important.
  • Experience and knowledge of building energy simulation tools, parametric modelling and design software and solar analysis tools is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of building information modelling (BIM) and coupling this to the above mentioned topics in advanced analysis is an advantage.
