FINANCE AND SPONSORED RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR, Open Learning, to assist faculty and administrators with proposal preparation, including budgets, budget justifications, supporting documentation, and required institutional information. Will provide information on sponsor-specific policies, forms, and submission requirements; shepherd proposals through the MIT proposal review and submission process; perform complex post-award activities (i.e., award approval and set up, analysis, reporting), including financial monitoring and analysis, projections, processing budget revisions, no-cost extensions, amendments, and subrecipient monitoring; assist with programmatic reporting to the various funding organizations; partner with OSP and other central offices to prevent/resolve problems; prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for several business units; process and approve financial transactions; handle procurement needs and process requisitions; approve invoices, RFPs, travel vouchers, and credit card charges; prepare journal vouchers; ensure compliance with MIT policies and procedures and applicable federal and sponsor rules and regulations; and perform related duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration; at least five years’ experience; experience with federal contracts and financial administration in an academic research environment; knowledge of federal guidelines; strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, time-management, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills; attention to detail; discretion with confidential information; flexibility; ability to prioritize, manage numerous projects with varying degrees of complexity, work as part of a team, identify and recommend solutions to complex problems, and operate effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment; and strong data management and Excel skills, including querying, pivot tables, and extensive formulaic knowledge.  Experience with SAP, Tableau, Kuali COEUS, and MIT's financial and administrative systems strongly preferred.
