Job Description

Applicants are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of experimental nanomaterials synthesis and characterization at the Physics Department in UAE University. The successful candidate will work with Dr. El-Hadi Sadki on the application of nanoporous graphene for water filtration and desalination. The primary responsibilities of this position are the synthesis of graphene by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), the preparation of nanoparticles by physical and chemical methods, the characterization of nanomaterials by Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The employed postdoctoral researcher will also be strongly encouraged to develop and pursue additional work in this and related areas. The initial employment is for one year, but can be extended for another year depending on satisfactory progress. Applications will be accepted immediately and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. The successful candidate must be able to start no later than May 01, 2019.

PhD

Preferred Qualification

Applicants must have a PhD in experimental materials physics or related field.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

Demonstrated experience in the techniques of CVD, Raman spectroscopy, AFM, SEM, and TEM, is particularly advantageous.
