The University is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, who wishes to embark on an academic career conducting quality research and lecturing on our postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. Candidates should have a background that would complement our existing activities, with a particular interest in Software Engineering, Programming Research, and Functional Programming. Outstanding applicants with a background in other areas may also be considered.

The successful candidate will work closely with departmental academic teams and be expected to contribute to existing teaching and research. The role has a strong emphasis on, and support for, research and enterprise activity, including participation in projects jointly launched by other members of the Department and Faculty. Candidates will be expected to join one of our existing research teams relevant to their specialism.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong teaching and research profile, and a history of successful grant applications would be desirable. For early career researchers, the potential to produce these outcomes would be sufficient. You will have a good first degree (1st or 2:1) in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics or engineering), together with a PhD.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
