At the Institute of Communication Technology the Chair of Radio Frequency and Photonics Engineering offers, subject to resources being available, a project position as 

Research Associate
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according
to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible, initially until 30.9.2020. The period of employment is governed by §2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschafts-zeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). 

Tasks: The researcher fulfill the tasks required to achieve the objectives of a BMBF project Patience to realize integrated photonic devices using silicon photonic foundries. It deals with the design, simulation, and measurement of photonic devices for optical communications and computing. Other than the tasks specified in the project, close collaboration with the collaborators of the group is required. Presentation of the results and preparing the reports are part of the responsibilities of the project.  

Requirements: university degree in Electrical Engineering. Being familiar with MATLAB/Python and/or C/C++ programming languages, is necessary. We are looking for a highly motivated, independent researcher with good teamwork ability. Basic knowledge in Optical communications, IC design, semiconductor technologies, and electromagnetic simulation, and neural networks is a plus.
