Job Summary

The Bronner lab is seeking a full-time technician with chicken embryology experience to aid in neural crest research projects. This position is grant-funded and we are seeking someone with an initial appointment Oct. 21, 2019-June 30, 2020, with the possibility of a 1 year renewal.

Job Duties

  • Early chicken embryology including egg opening, ex ovo electroporation, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and cryosectioning (50%)
  • Molecular biology tasks including PCR, qRT-PCR, cloning, plasmid preparations, and sequencing (15%)
  • Fluorescence microscopy (15%)
  • Biochemistry including immunoprecipitations and Western blot analyses (10%)
  • Image analysis and data curation (5%)
  •  Cell/tissue culture maintenance (5%)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biology or related field
  • Chicken embryology and microdissection experience
  • Molecular Biology experience
  • Fluorescence microscopy experience
  • Biochemistry experience, including SDS-PAGE and Western blots
  • Experience with cryosectioning
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cell/tissue culture experience
