College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Wellington

Massey University's School of Psychology offers degree programmes to Doctoral level in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and in the College of Sciences.

The Psychology Clinic in Wellington invites applications from Registered Psychologists with a Clinical Scope of Practice and hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate to join the Clinic team. The appointee will have responsibility for psychological assessment and treatment with a wide range of clients, likely from a broadly cognitive-behavioural framework and within a scientist-practitioner model. Neuropsychological assessment/ neurorehabilitation and child and family therapies are specialisations of the Psychology Clinic.

The Psychology Clinic provides training for doctoral candidates in clinical psychology. In addition to further developing your own area of clinical expertise, the academic environment will provide opportunities for clinical supervision of trainees/ interns, and facilitating the clinical research programme of the Psychology Clinic and working alongside academic staff. Carrying a full clinical caseload (spending approximately 70% of your time providing direct service or supervision) is the primary responsibility of the post.

A doctoral qualification in psychology would be an advantage but is not a requirement of the post. We expect you will have at least three years of post-qualification clinical experience, and some experience supervising students would be an advantage. It is expected an appointment will be made on the Sr. Professional Clinician scale of the approved Massey University salary scales.

The employment setting will involve work with people across the lifespan, including under 17 year olds. Consequently, a safety check is required by applicants applying for this position and this includes a police vet.

Electronic applications may be submitted through the Massey careers site or by selecting the 'apply now' below.

Should you require clarification on any aspect of this position please contact Dr Melissa de Wolff, Acting Director of the Psychology Clinic in Wellington, telephone +64 4 801 0492 or via email via the Clinic Secretary C.Wilson1@massey.ac.nz
