To celebrate our 2021 bicentenary of pioneering research, we are looking to appoint 2 Assistant/Associate Professors in Renewable/Sustainable Energy Engineering. You will join our Institute of Mechanical, Process & Energy Engineering (IMPEE), a dynamic, multidisciplinary research Institute focused on promoting excellence across our main research themes: Low-Carbon Processes; novel Energy Systems, Storage & Integration; Sustainable Process Engineering; Advanced Manufacturing; Multiphase, Multiscale Engineering Modelling and Biological and Healthcare Engineering.

As a successful candidate, you are expected to have a demonstrable record of relevant research coupled with an ability to contribute to the quality and innovation of our teaching in our core areas of mechanical engineering or chemical engineering. 

You will be expected to have a strong track record of research in one or more of the following areas:

  • Renewable Energy Technology
  • Low Carbon Cooling and Refrigeration
  • Energy System Integration
  • Inter-seasonal Storage (Chemical, Electro-chemical, Hydrogen)
  • Energy storage materials

You should have a first degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering (or a closely related discipline), a PhD in one of the areas of interest to us and a record of publications in internationally recognised journals. Commensurate with level of appointment, candidates are also expected to have secured external research funding.
