We are seeking an exceptional risk and safety specialist, someone who will enjoy working in a creative environment where experimentation and innovation are championed and encouraged, yet able to facilitate this so activities are carried out in a manner where they do not pose a risk to students/staff or any other persons including members of the public.

The Risk and Safety Manager will lead on the provision of health, safety and risk management for the University and be responsible for the management and development of appropriate procedures and processes. You will ensure the University meets its obligations in relation to legislative compliance and maintains excellent standards of health, risk & safety. You will write related documents, policies, risk assessments, carry out audits and will report to/advise committees and stakeholders on health, safety and risk issues. You will have line management responsibilities for the Risk and Safety assistant.

With a NEBOSH Diploma and educated to degree level, you will have up to date knowledge and understanding of current legislation and of implementing & monitoring health, risk and safety. Communications skills are important as this is a front facing role and you will need to build excellent working relationships internally and externally. Previous experience of working in a university and an understanding of creative arts are desirable.
