Job Description

The Electrical Engineering department at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for multiple full-time positions in Electrical Engineering at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with the anticipated start date of Fall 2019 (August 2019) semester. The Electrical Engineering department is inviting outstanding applicants with expertise and proven record in scholarly research in electrical broad engineering areas including, but not limited to, electronics engineering, Communication and networking engineering, power systems, power electronics and machine drives, and computer engineering. Candidates must have vision in defining their research plan in these fields. The successful candidate is expected to secure and lead externally and internally funded research and perform scholarly activities, deliver state-of-the-art undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in service activities as assigned. The department offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate BSc degree in Electrical Engineering. The department also offers MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering. The Department focuses on research areas including but not limited to microelectronics, antennas & communications, optimization & controls, power systems and renewable energy, and signals & systems.

Minimum Qualification

A Ph.D. degree from a reputable international university in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualification

  1. Demonstrated record of publications in leading international scientific journals in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering;
  2. Ability to develop and secure sponsored research that involves both undergraduate and graduate students;
  3. Ability to teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses and develop new courses or course components
  4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies,.
  5. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
