LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER, Resource Development, to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors who are capable of making gifts of $100,000 to $5M, and in some cases, beyond $5M. Will manage and build successful fund-raising strategies for a portfolio focused on 2.0-4.0 rated prospects and some 1.0 rated prospects in a major market and possibly micro market by creating individualized solicitation plans leading to major gifts in support of MIT's fund-raising priorities. The work will involve collaborating with Resource Development and Alumni Association staff, school-based fund-raisers, senior Institute officers, faculty, alumni, volunteers, donors, and members of the Corporation’s development committee.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a bachelor's degree; at least three years of direct fund-raising experience; demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the benefactors and prospects of the Institute; excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, and volunteers; and a proven record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of time and resources. Seek an individual with well-proven human relations and communication skills who is familiar with business travel.  Familiarity with the business markets within the territory a plus. Advanced education is desirable. Experience in a higher education organization preferred.  Job #18029-10
