Future U is the Lancashire consortium's approach to the National Collaborative Outreach Programme, a HEFCE-funded project aimed at increasing participation in higher education. Future U is a very targeted programme, engaging with specific cohorts of students with the overarching aim of improving participation rates at Higher Education (HE) and progression rates towards HE.
The Lancashire consortium comprises Edge Hill University, Lancaster University, University of Central Lancashire and University of Cumbria, alongside a range of Further Education (FE) Colleges, independent companies, local authorities and the Lancashire LEP. The project team will be based at the University of Central Lancashire but will be working for the consortium.
The Research and Data Assistant will provide support to Partnerships and Research Manager and the Research and Evaluation Officer. The role will help collate and analyse data from across the project, providing a link between outreach operations and evaluation. They will be supervised by experienced researchers, whilst further developing their own skills and experience in data analysis.
The successful candidate will hold a degree and have experience of quantitative and qualitative data collect and analysis. Experience of working in outreach projects that engage schools and community organisations is essential, as is experience of data handling.
