FINANCIAL COORDINATORMIT Quest for Intelligence, to support the administrative officer and work closely with the senior financial officer supporting sponsored research activity, contract management, and overall financial activities of Quest; serve as the point-of-contact for a designated set of principal investigators/faculty/administrative staff; and assist with project management as needed. Financial responsibilities include coordinating the daily financial operations of Quest, including credit card approvals and maintenance; financial review and control of Quest headquarters’ accounts; approving invoices/RFPs and travel expense reports; procurement; reviewing transactions for conformance with budgets and MIT and sponsor policies and processing financial transactions; overseeing fund and research accounts, including initial set-up, extensions, and close-outs; and preparing and analyzing monthly suite of reports monitoring the financial performance and activity of research and fund accounts.  Project management responsibilities include working with senior finance officer on special projects; coordinating new project setup for various Quest sponsors based on internal processes and tools; implementing and maintaining internal tracking, projection, and workflow processes; and other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years of relevant financial management experience; experience in academic programs and/or research administration; excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills; attention to detail; demonstrated sound judgment; service orientation; ability to work independently and within a coordinated team; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SAP, COEUS, and electronic proposal submission software.  Knowledge of and experience with MIT financial systems and sponsored accounting preferred.  Job #18006-6
