Overview:

Queen Mary University of London is recruiting for a REF Manager to take the lead in managing and delivering the development and submission of the university’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission, the REF dry run exercises and research and analysis activities relating to REF/research, establishing appropriate timetables, systems and processes to manage, validate and submit the required information and data. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in research administration coupled with excellent organizational, networking and communication skills.

The post holder should have substantial knowledge of national and international policy, developments and innovation in higher education, providing strategic advice and practical guidance to colleagues across the University.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is highly numerate and adept at analysing and interpreting data for audiences with varying levels of knowledge;
  • has experience of supporting previous submissions to the Research Excellence Framework (or an equivalent exercise);
  • has an understanding of UK HE external assessment exercises for research;
  • has a high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across the University.

The position is a 2-year fixed term post with a salary of £52,883 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
