Full-time: 35 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join University of the West of Scotland (UWS), one of Higher Education’s most innovative modern universities.

We have 4 vibrant campuses across the west of Scotland as well as a campus in central London.

Our campuses boast some of the most modern, pioneering and sustainable Higher Education learning and teaching facilities in the UK – our new Lanarkshire Campus was the winner of the ‘sustainable buildings that inspire’ accolade in the Guardian University Awards 2019.

The University’s 19,900 student population includes a growing international student cohort comprising more than 140 nationalities.

We have also established ourselves as a force for good through our internationally relevant ground-breaking research in areas including eye-care, drone technology, artificial intelligence, thin films and sensors, 5G networking, arthritis and dementia care.

UWS was ranked in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2019 as being in the world’s top 150 universities under 50 and the highest ranked young university in Scotland.

The role
In this new position within the University’s high-performing Marketing & Student Recruitment team you’ll play a key role in helping to raise awareness and enhance the reputation of UWS.

Across various online and offline media, you’ll create content for multiple target audiences and oversee development of publications, including prospectuses, annual review, brochures and direct mail. You will also contribute to the creation of social and rich media and work with the Head of Brand Development & Campaigns on identifying emerging trends and best practice in publications to maximise the impact and effectiveness of UWS materials.

A highly self-motivated individual you will exercise considerable initiative to complete tasks effectively and your excellent communication and people skills will see you working credibly with colleagues at all levels and managing key internal stakeholders.

You should have first-class copywriting skills and a proven track record of delivering complex print and digital publications in a marketing, customer service-orientated environment. You should also have experience of working with design or print agencies and managing effective working relationships with them.  A relevant degree (preferably in marketing) is required.

For further information or an informal discussion please contact David Kyle, Head of Brand Development & Campaigns at david.kyle@uws.ac.uk.
