Through its teaching and research, the Faculty has supplied Hong Kong with preeminent medical and healthcare professionals; undertaken groundbreaking research; and provided strong leadership in establishing and maintaining world-class healthcare in the territory.

HKUMed is the largest faculty in the University.  It comprises 14 departments, 4 schools (School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Chinese Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health), 2 academic units and a number of research centres, with over 400 full-time academic and academic-related staff and 800 research and research-related support staff.  At present, it is home to approximately 2,900 undergraduate students and 1,500 postgraduate students.

The Emergency Medicine Unit is a full-fledged division of HKUMed.  It will be developed into an academic department under the strategic direction of the Faculty.  To cope with the challenges ahead, the Unit is inviting applications for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Professor in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 498659) to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract.

He/She will perform the duties at the University’s teaching hospitals in Hong Kong. Information about the Unit can be obtained at http://emu.hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate.   Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
