We are currently looking to recruit a Student Systems Co-ordinator to join our team to support the management, maintenance and development of the university's core student systems which underpin the business processes associated with the applicant and student lifecycle.

Our Information Services Team provide innovative and reliable IT and services which are continually adapting to meet the changing needs of staff and students in our rapidly changing technology environment. The University is committed to making significant investment in its IT and digital services provision to ensure the delivery of consistent, high quality IT and Library services across the University.

The Student Systems team sits within Information Services and is responsible for the university's main student records systems (SITS), the timetabling system (Scientia Syllabus+) and the recruitment system CRM (Microsoft Dynamics).

The role

As a Student Systems Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with colleagues from business areas across the University to ensure the student systems meet the needs of our customers. You will communicate user requirements effectively with the rest of the team. Analytical and critical thinking are required for reviewing processes and finding efficiencies and improving the use of systems for your end user.

Other key responsibilities will be for you to manage the systems help desk function, ensuring calls are dealt with in a timely, proficient manner. This will include regular reporting and analysis and translation of calls into training requirements.

Other duties include System administration tasks, managing Student System process documentation, liaising with stakeholders where required and managing stakeholder communication. You will also play a key role in ensuring that our student systems and data comply with statutory, legislative and regulatory policies.

What are we looking for

Applicants must have:

  • HND or equivalent in a business, IT or administrative subject, or relevant work experience 
  • Experience of managing data integrity and quality in a software system in a structured and disciplined way
  • Knowledge of requirements relating to data integrity (legal and security requirements)
  • Experience of the provision of services in a demanding user-focused environment
  • Understanding of business processes
  • Experience of documenting procedures

Salary: GBP 26,714 - GBP 31,865 per annum (Grade 4)
