IT CONSULTANT 1, Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC)-Desktop Support (DS) Team, to work with two other IT professionals and the director of academic computing on resolving day-to-day hardware, software, network, and/or security issues. Will ensure the delivery of high-quality support to users in the OVC and Dean for Student Life (DSL) in furtherance of their business objectives. Primary responsibilities will include the proactive management of incoming support inquiries through a ticketing system, and project work such as participating in OVC DS initiatives to refine IT issues facing clients.
The OVC DS is customer-focused and works to increase end customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships, inform/empower clients, engage with cross-functional teams, and effectively manage expectations with a broad customer base.
A high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ experience supporting Hybrid Windows and Macintosh environments; strong diagnostic skills and working knowledge of current technology to resolve escalated customer complaints with limited need for manager intervention or further escalation; excellent customer service skills; and demonstrable diplomacy and sensitivity to the needs of the OVC/DSL community. Must be able to convey technical information in non-technical terms to ensure understanding from all audiences and to follow through on commitments and agreements; learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and services; provide proactive and effective technical customer-friendly support to a diverse client base; and lift weights of up to 30lbs. Salary range: $55-63,000
