The Estates and Facilities Directorate are looking to recruit to the post of Facilities Manager to deliver industry standard, best practice soft FM services across all QMUL sites, and actively contribute to the continual improvement of these services. The post holder will report to the Operations Manager (Mile End) and will lead the  in-house Management and Supervisory teams across two Cleaning Service teams (Residential and Non-Residential), and Porterage & Postal Services.  In addition to the management of the in-house service delivery teams the Facilities Manager will also manage and procure supply and service contracts to support these services, ensuring quality of service and value for money are achieved.

The post holder will be responsible for providing customer focussed, safe, effective and efficient operational management of these services, ensuring they are aligned to changing customer requirements by monitoring and revising KPI’s and Service Levels, and to ensure all statutory obligations with regards to Cleaning,  Waste Management, Porterage and Postal Services are met.

You will be educated to Degree level or hold equivalent professional qualifications or have prior experience of Senior Management in developing, planning and managing first class internal and external Soft FM Service.

You will have experience of managing and budgeting responsibility for a large in-house soft service teams and external service providers whilst working as part of a customer focused team, have a flexible approach, be a confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across the Directorate and University. An ability to effectively manage your workload (and that of your teams), able to prioritise and to work as part of a team is essential. Good IT skills on Microsoft office package are essential in addition to developing and using other financial and Facilities Management related IT systems.

The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £47,325 - £52,833 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
