We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate at the University of Bristol on a project funded by the Wellcome (https://www.wellcome.ac.uk) to evaluate the Registered Reports Funding model – a partnership between funders and journals whereby a single peer review process offers both funding for a project and in principle acceptance of the results, on the basis of the importance of the research question and robustness of the methodology.
The successful applicant will be based within the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group (TARG: http://www.bris.ac.uk/expsych/research/brain/targ/), part of the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit at the University of Bristol (IEU: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/integrative-epidemiology/). The post holder will work collaboratively and with external collaborators, including colleagues from other disciplines and institutions.
This project sits within a growing programme of meta-research activity at the University of Bristol that includes a focus on novel approaches that may serve to improve the efficiency of scientific research. Details of the Registered Reports Funding model can be found in a recent editorial (https://academic.oup.com/ntr/article/19/7/773/3106460/Improving-the-Effi...).
