Research Services office is part of the university’s Research and Business Innovation division and provides expert advice, guidance and administrative support on externally funded research and the administration of successfully awarded grants and contracts. The team also delivers a range of research support activities linked to the preparation of the university’s submission to the UK-wide Research Excellence Framework (known as REF). 

We are seeking a motivated and well-organised individual to support the University’s preparations for the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021). The Senior REF Partner will support the preparation of the University’s REF 2021 submission, ensuring close alignment with University’s research and REF strategies. The role will require strong analytical and communication skills. Deploying the PURE research management system, you will work to operationalise the REF guidance and criteria, data collection processes, analyse data and produce reports, and assist in the delivery of all internal REF processes.  

As a focal contact point for key staff within the REF governance structure the post holder will work closely with senior academics and professional services staff at all levels to assist with the preparation and checking of all elements of the REF submission. You will also assist with the development of research impact strategies, by providing input, advice, support and analysis to researchers.
