The Centre for the History of the Emotions at Queen Mary University of London is looking to recruit a Project Manager to work on their Wellcome Trust Humanities and Social Science Collaborative Award: ‘Living With Feeling: Emotional Health in History, Philosophy, and Experience’. The award, which began in September 2015, supports an ambitious programme of inter-disciplinary research and public engagement into the history and meanings of ‘emotional health’.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, delivery, financial administration, record keeping and reporting of the work undertaken on the project, working closely with the Principal Investigator and alongside the project team. Training in the necessary financial software packages will be provided. You will also support and work alongside an Engagement and Impact Manager, who will be responsible for delivering and documenting the public engagement activities of the project.
You will hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience/qualification) and will have experience of organising large events, managing complex projects, and supporting public engagement activities in the arts, sciences, or both. As a skilled communicator, you will be able to respond to emails in a clear, professional and prompt manner.
Competence in financial administration, and in online communication via social media and WordPress, would be desirable.
The post will start on 22nd October 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter, and end on 21st October 2020. Starting salary will be in the range of £34,220 - £35,144 per annum pro rata inclusive of London Allowance, subject to experience. The post is part time (0.5 fte or 2.5 days per week). Consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work on a different part-time or more flexible basis (please state preference in application).
