About the position

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine invites applications from qualified academics interested in joining our growing team. The Faculty is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor who will play a key role in the delivery of the Neurological/General health subjects and content across the Faculty’s Doctor of Physiotherapy program.

This position will contribute to the ongoing development of the Doctor of Physiotherapy program; research and scholarship; teaching; academic administration; and community engagement, particularly in the professional field of Physiotherapy across the lifespan.

About the person:

The successful applicant will be registered or registerable as a Physiotherapist by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. As an Assistant Professor a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline is required however exceptions to degree requirements may be made for individuals with extraordinary professional competence and industry or clinical skills and experience in the field of Neurological/General Physiotherapy.

Demonstrated experience in clinical education and in teaching and student education in a physiotherapy context is essential. Experience in Problem Based Learning approaches is also desirable. The successful applicant must also demonstrate a commitment to the facilitation of innovative teaching, inter-professional learning activities, and application of research to teaching in physiotherapy and with other disciplines.

Experience and knowledge across the lifespan with a proven track record in Neurological/General Physiotherapy teaching, research and clinical is essential.
