The School of Management sits within the College of Business and offers higher education and research programs. It offers business degrees in Management, International Business, HRM and Entrepreneurship. The School employs approximately 150 people including approximately 60 academic staff, 6 administrative staff, 10 adjunct staff and more than 90 sessional staff in Australia and offshore.
About the positions
RMITs School of Management is seeking a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship to join our vibrant, collegial community of scholars working on entrepreneurship and innovation.
Our current research themes range from better understanding the resources and processes that shape successful entrepreneurial activity; to the various effects of these activities on individual entrepreneurs and their social networks, innovation teams, firms and the wider social and economic contexts in which they are embedded.
Our research is pushing the frontiers of the entrepreneurship research through theoretical and methodological contributions. We have a track record of publishing in highly-ranked journals, and international recognition for our research in the form of editorial memberships, joint funded projects, and citations to our publications.
We are part of the larger cohort of entrepreneurship and innovation scholars working at RMIT and comprising the largest concentration of entrepreneurship and innovation scholars in Australia; a strategic investment of RMIT over the last three years.
As Lecturer, Entrepreneurship you will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. More specifically, the Lecturer, Entrepreneurship is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.
The Senior Lecturer, Entrepreneurship is an important research leadership role and will make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and be actively involved in research, consulting and the other professional activities. The Senior Lecturer will develop, engage in and lead high quality research projects that are aligned with the Universitys research focus areas to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs.
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship you will have the ability to undertake course coordination, prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery.
Key to the position will be your ability to work effectively with and utilise your high-level of interpersonal skills to negotiate sensitively with students relating to effective learning. The role will also require you to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
You will bring to the position your emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs as evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.
As Senior Lecturer, you will manage academic program teams, support scholarly development and coordinate large courses and delivery programs. You will also implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement.
Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
