COMPENSATION SPECIALIST 2Human Resources, to serve as an expert resource and consultant on compensation matters for staff in central Human Resources and MIT schools, departments, labs, and centers (DLCs).  Will administer, implement, and communicate MIT's compensation programs; contribute to the development, implementation, and communication of MIT’s pay programs; provide analytical expertise, guidance, and interpretation of various compensation guidelines; collaborate with central HR and DLC HR departments in the development and/or evaluation of job descriptions, pay decision recommendations, and equity and/or market analysis process; communicate difficult compensation decisions/outcomes independently; review and approves compensation transactions; ensure compliance with and independently make recommendations on applicable regulations such as MEPA and FLSA; provide compensation-related trainings/presentations and/or develop new trainings as requested; participate in salary surveys and determine survey benchmarks for Institute jobs; analyze data and make recommendations on findings to management; identify the need for new and/or improvements to existing guidelines and research and make recommendations to management on findings; lead and/or participate in compensation projects; and perform other duties as requested. 

Job Requirements

REQUIREDa bachelor’s degree; at least seven years of experience in compensation or human resources; excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to compensation preferred; as is compensation certification. Job #17980-9
