SENIOR CATALYSTOffice of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT), to play a key role in a team-based approach to faculty-centric development and execution of sponsored research, collaboration, and related agreements. Will provide support for risk-managed agreements of varied types including industrial, nonprofit, and international sponsors/partners/collaborators; facilitate and act as a resource for faculty who seek to secure highly complex agreements for sponsored research, education, or capacity building from non-federal sponsors; identify and cultivate engagement opportunities between faculty and potential sponsors and drive these deals to closure; lead negotiation and closure of agreements with the Strategic Transactions Team, work with the director of catalysts and individual catalysts to develop best practices and strategies; and provide support as agreements transition from negotiation to launch and execution. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in business administration, science, engineering, or related discipline (master’s or Ph.D strongly preferred); at least ten years’ relevant resource development or business development experience in industry/university/nonprofit sectors; excellent communication and negotiation skills; experience negotiating sponsored research, collaboration, and other agreements (including international); experience in a leadership role in large-scale transactions including research collaborations, licensing, and organization-wide initiatives; experience supervising others and communicating with internal stakeholders in agreement development; ability to grasp complex issues and identify solution paths, effectively support stakeholders in resource/business development aims, and work with research administration/technology transfer professionals.  Seek someone who exhibits thoughtful judgment and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and decision making; can work on teams; and is sensitive to the needs of multiple constituencies in a complex, demanding academic environment.  Knowledge of academic research principles, research integrity, and intellectual property policy a plus.  Job #17972-12
