The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) is one of only 51 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country. As an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center the SCI is a dynamic and stimulating place to work as it maintains the highest level of scientific rigor, institutional support and coordination for the complete range of cancer-related research, including basic, translational, clinical and population-based science. The SCI brings together faculty with cancer-relevant expertise from four Schools and over 30 departments throughout the University. The Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO) is an integral component of the Stanford Cancer Institute since the vital work performed there enables our cancer center to translate research from the laboratory into the clinical setting. Given the SCI’s mission, breadth, and depth it employs ~275 staff members (inclusive of the CCTO) in a fast-paced environment with tremendous opportunities for our Clinical Research teams.

Stanford University is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to perform administrative and financial support duties related to clinical research studies. Work under supervision of the Clinical Research Manager and/or study coordinator/supervisor. The ACRC position will have a dotted line to the Division of Hematology, Division Manager.  Additional duties may be assigned by the Division of Hematology through the CRM related to the clinical trials invoicing and close out processes.

Duties include:

  • Help CRCs in maintaining forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. File appropriate correspondence to assist the CRCs.
  • Order and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Process study compensation payments and invoice in CRISP for such payments.
  • Create, submit and reconcile study milestones invoice(s) in CRISP.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong keyboarding skills, working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and Excel
  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment and machines.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with a diverse staff
  • Must be willing to sign a statement of conduct and a statement of confidentiality.
  • Business and/or financial background preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Two year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • General knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. Demonstrate a sense of urgency yet careful attention to detail
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and reports as well as access, enter and edit program data and to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to record, analyze and summarize data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • A proactive approach to work and conflict resolution.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
  • Must have a strong customer service orientation, the ability to use good judgement, and exercise discretion.
  • Must have excellent professional demeanor, self-motivated and flexible.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • HIPAA certificate
  • Updated CITI training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
