This is a full-time fixed term post for 10 months (1 December 2019 - 30 September 2020)
Applications are invited for a Teaching Fellow in Philosophy. Teaching duties will include the second year module PHIL2171 The Philosophy of Economics and Politics, PHIL1111 Science Medicine and Society and Postgraduate module PHIL41730 Philosophy of Social Sciences.
The Philosophy of Economics and Politics is a core module of the Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) programme in 2019/20 and the teaching fellow will be an academic advisor or dissertation supervisor to PPE students with specific interests in Philosophy of Economics and/or Social Science.
The teaching fellow will also be required to play an administrative role in the Department, which will be assigned by the Head of Department.
Teaching Fellowships offer the opportunity of valuable experience to those early in their academic careers and the University is keen to maximise the benefit to as many people as possible. The post of Teaching Fellow will involve a significant teaching load, which may extend into the summer period, and there may be related scholarship and the opportunity for administrative duties, which relate to education and pedagogy.
The post is for a fixed term only, and it is not anticipated that the post will be extended beyond this fixed term.
Successful applicants will, ideally be in post by 1st December 2019.
