IMP2ART London Research Administrator
£27,742 to £28,498 per annum, pro rata
Applications are invited for a Research Administrator based in the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. The Blizard is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
This post will be located within the Centre for Primary Care and Public Health, which was ranked fifth in the UK (out of 32 submissions) for the quality of its research outputs (REF 2014). The post holder will undertake a key role as the London site administrator for a prestigious NIHR-funded Programme Grant, IMP2ART (IMPlementing IMProved Asthma self-management as Routine). IMP2ART is 6-year programme that will develop and evaluate a whole systems strategy to implementing supported asthma self-management in routine primary care practice. This major implementation study aims to transform the way asthma is managed across the UK and to reduce asthma related morbidity.
The successful candidate will work with researchers and administrators from centres in Edinburgh and Sheffield to provide administrative and research support for the IMP2ART Programme Grant.
The Research Administrator will have responsibility for supporting the Chief Investigators, Programme Manager and researchers, undertaking a wide range of administrative duties to facilitate the efficient operation of the project.
We are looking for applicants with an office administration qualification (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) with relevant experience OR good all round office skills and significant experience. Experience in a research or administrative role, preferably within a university environment, is essential.
The post is a part time (0.5 FTE) fixed term appointment for 18 months in the first instance (possible extension up to 51 months in total subject to funders approving the checkpoint report). Starting salary will be in the range £27,742 to £28,498 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
