The role contributes to the evaluation of the Time to Change England programme to reduce mental health related stigma and discrimination. This evaluation is ongoing since the start of Time to Change in 2008 and has made a significant contribution to the evidence base for stigma reduction efforts. Specifically, the role entails a content analysis of newspaper reporting on mental health for a sample taken throughout 2019, and a comparison of the results for previous years from 2008 onwards. The post holder will draft a report of the results for the Time to Change management and their funders, and a paper for academic publication.
Successful candidates will have rigorous attention to detail and self-discipline, as the methods for the content analysis must be applied accurately and consistently to produce valid and reliable results. They will have good basic statistical and writing skills for the analysis and writing of the report and academic paper.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.
This is a full-time position. However, reduced FTE or Job Shares will be considered.
