SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to provide administrative support for the HR manager and to the director of research, education, and training.  HR responsibilities include being the first point of contact for job postings, including posting jobs, responding to inquiries from hiring managers and interested applicants, and partnering with web developers, regional offices, and HR manager as needed; creating and managing the monthly jobs newsletter, including coordinating with regional offices on what positions should be included/featured and editing and maintaining J-PAL’s staff web bios for worldwide staff by utilizing Salesforce; assisting managers with recruitment-related activities including preparing job requisitions, using job posting and sourcing sites, and receiving and forwarding resumes to hiring managers; scheduling phone screens and coordinating in-person interviews; creating and maintaining records and files; and assisting in orienting new hires to J-PAL. Administrative support for the director includes maintaining calendars and schedules; coordinating and organizing meetings and conference calls with both internal and external stakeholders, including scheduling, distributing agendas, and IT set-up; organizing domestic and international travel arrangements; and managing expenses and processing reimbursements. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma; five years’ HR experience in a professional work environment; attention to detail; ability to work on projects independently yet accept supervision; strong copy editing and proofreading skills and experience; willingness to pitch in as needed; flexible approach to the work environment; and experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and comfort learning new applications.  Must be able to maintain confidential information; handle several different projects/tasks simultaneously and complete assigned tasks anticipate; plan, prioritize and meet deadlines.
