Categories: Academic-related Staff
Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Experimental Ultrafast Science in the Department of Physics (Ref.: 498502), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, or a related field, with an excellent C.V., publication and research record. They should have experience in experimental ultrafast science including, but not limited to, ultrashort, high power laser pulses, optical spectroscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy; and experience in programming and/or device interfacing. They should also have strong motivation to work in a competitive and challenging environment and be eager to learn.
The appointee will conduct research in the area of high-order harmonic generation from condensed matters in the newly established group led by Dr. Tran Trung Luu. The group aims to: (i) push forward the state-of-the-art research in light-solid interaction by combining high-fidelity control of input light fields and precise characterization of radiated light; investigate electronic structure and electronic dynamics in solids using Attosecond Optical Spectroscopy; and (ii) explore possible means to develop light-solid interaction into a versatile source to facilitate ultrafast science. Enquiries about the post can be directed to Dr. Luu at firstname.lastname@example.org. Information about the group is available at https://www.physics.hku.hk/~ttluu/. Excellent applicants may be nominated for the Presidential Post-doctoral Fellowship (https://jobs.hku.hk/en/job/495621/presidential-postdoctoral-fellows).
