Assistant Lecturer in Spanish in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: 498531) (to commence on January 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding)

Applicants should possess a B.A. degree and relevant Master’s degree with proven expertise in the teaching of Spanish to non-native speakers plus normally 3 years’ of teaching experience in tertiary education. They should be native or near native speakers of Spanish and possess good communication skills in English. They should also be conversant with current trends in language teaching and assessment. The appointee is expected to teach a number of different courses at various levels, and assist in developing new courses and designing assessment materials.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Please note that the University is not able to offer a relocation assistant package (including temporary University housing accommodation and a passage and baggage allowance) to the successful candidate recruited from overseas.
