We seek a person who can provide visionary academic leadership, the ability to ensure a sustainable future, while delivering on the ambitions of UWA 2030.

A NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Vice-Chancellor will lead the University with vision, vigour, integrity and acumen; an experienced, inspirational leader, with strategic management and financial skills honed by experience in large and complex institutions.

The successful person will need knowledge of the higher education environment in Australia and the challenges and opportunities of the changing global education landscape.

CANDIDATES NEED TO DEMONSTRATE HIGH LEVEL CAPABILITY TO:

  • develop and lead the distinctive strategic vision of UWA, consistent with its heritage, values, strengths and aspirations.
  • lead institutional transformational change while motivating and inspiring the University community and the communities it serves.
  • work effectively with the Chancellor, Senate and the University’s Senior Management.
  • represent the University at the highest level and communicate effectively with ministers, senior government officials, heads of other higher education and research institutions, high level delegations and visitors, business, professional and community leaders, alumni and the philanthropic community and the media.
