Are you a Community Services professional looking for a role where you can make a real difference in the lives of the next generation of learners? Are you a skilled facilitator with experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and/or organisations?

If this sounds like you then don’t wait, Swinburne’s Vocational Education team is now inviting expressions of interest for casual teachers to commence in 2019!

As a Community Services Teacher (Indigenous Programs) you will work closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), such as the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Child Care Agency (VACCA), and Swinburne University of Technology to maximise student participation, wellbeing, and success in completing their studies. Drawing from your extensive experience and knowledge of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners and organisations, you will demonstrate the ability to develop a culturally safe learning environment.

A community services teacher at Swinburne is expected to share their experience and knowledge with students, and encourage them to successfully obtain their qualifications and succeed in their chosen profession. Our community services teachers work within a passionate team of teachers. Within this team they plan, deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure compliance of high quality education programs. About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116): or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including the units TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 or equivalent units.
  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification in Community Services or related field.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and/or organisations
