London College of Communication, a college of the University of Arts London, is a pioneering world leader in creative communications education.

We work at the cutting edge of new thinking and development to prepare our students for successful careers in the creative industries of the future. 

We are driving forward an ambitious research agenda and a major step towards this will be the appointment of a Professor in each of the Colleges Schools. We are now inviting applications from outstanding candidates for appointment to the new position of Professor in Virtual and Extended Realities within our Screen School. The School encourages collaboration across different disciplines to mirror the real world creative environment, our courses include film, television, animation, live events, sound arts and design, games art and design, visual effects and virtual reality.

Our new Professor will exemplify academic leadership and play a strategic role in the development of knowledge exchange and research work in virtual and extended reality through leading on current and bidding on future funded projects, and by building external industry and higher education facing collaborations. In developing your knowledge exchange, research and practice within the aims, remit and ambition of the institution, you will be a high-profile appointment for the School and will be present and active across our community.

Professorial candidates will be expected to have a substantive record of excellence, blended across knowledge exchange and research as demonstrated by your scholarly activity, success in bid writing and engagement with industrial partners. Above all, the role requires someone with a deep commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration across the School and beyond.
