Lecturer in Learning & Teaching Enhancement - Part time, 1 Year Fixed Term

Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement

We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer to join our Department of Learning & Teaching Enhancement at Edinburgh Napier University.

The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement has a strong record of research and innovation in staff development, partnerships with students in teaching and quality and applications of new technologies to pedagogy and will continue to invest in these areas as well as supporting broader pedagogical scholarship.

The role

You will play an important role in supporting the development and delivery of excellent teaching and learning across the University and contribute to raising the profile of and contributing to pedagogical research across the University. You will have a key role in delivering a project for a partner in China designed to facilitate the development of pedagogic practice.

You will have the opportunity to engage in research projects, leading to the production of high-quality research outputs/outcomes. You will have the opportunity to develop networks outside of the University which will inform and support your role in advancing academic practice.

You will contribute to the University's objective of growing our academic reputation for research-informed student learning. You must be ambitious and enthusiastic about cross-disciplinary working and be committed to working collaboratively across the University.

Who we are looking for

Essential requirements:

  • A doctoral level qualification 
  • Substantial experience of working with individuals whose first language is not English
  • Recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academic 
  • Evidence of leading pedagogical innovation 
  • Evidence of change management skills 
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of experience in pedagogy to develop quality teaching/ learning 
  • Demonstrable evidence of a high standard of communication, facilitation and academic leadership skills
  • An established record of accomplishment in a research area closely related 
  • Experience of teaching and developing programme content in that area, and of delivering excellent teaching in an engaging way
