About the role and college / portfolio:

This position is part of the Operations portfolio. This enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director Communications is responsible for leading the Communications function of RMIT to ensure proactive and consistent communications across all global platforms.

This position plays a leading role in the strategic transformation of RMIT by ensuring that the global communications strategy brings the RMIT strategy to life, clearly articulating the vision, mission and objectives of RMIT in a way that is inspiring and student-centric.

You will establish strong and collaborative relationships across the University so that you can deliver a world class global communications strategy that will develop and protect the positioning and reputation of the University and maximise opportunities to grow RMITs reputation as a global leader that creates transformative student experiences, and shapes the world through research, innovation, teaching and engagement.

About you:

You will have demonstrated success in creating and delivering a global communications

strategy at an Executive level across multiple markets and in a complex organisation. We are looking for someone with exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, including evidence of the capacity to engage core marketing functions and stakeholders across a global and diverse organisation in order to drive the communications strategy.

We are looking for strong commercial acumen in decision making and advice and a high level of advice and support at an Executive level. A demonstrated ability to support Executive and Senior leaders to drive cultural change and improved performance outcomes through a global communications strategy, whilst delivering against strategic goals and operational targets.
