The School of English and Drama at Queen Mary University of London invites applications for the post of Knowledge Exchange Coordinator for NETWORK (QMUL’s Centre for the Creative and Cultural Economy). Collaborative research and knowledge exchange with the creative economy have grown rapidly at QMUL in recent years. QMUL has also launched new taught programmes focused on the creative economy. The post-holder will join thus QMUL at an important and exciting time and will play a pivotal role in positioning and supporting knowledge exchange with creative economy businesses and organisations.
Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director of NETWORK, and with research leads across the University, the post-holder will provide support for Network’s activities, contribute to the development of strategic bidding partnerships, and identify areas of best practice in knowledge exchange with the creative economy. The post-holder will be responsible for the planning and organisation of events, workshops and roundtables with the creative and cultural industries, for ensuring effective communication between Network and its various partners and collaborators, and for liaising with researchers and knowledge exchange practitioners across Network’s diverse partners. The post-holder will also maintain NETWORK’s web presence and publications, and will ensure effective internal monitoring and reporting systems and processes are implemented.
This opportunity will suit a creative candidate with a relevant background in knowledge exchange or research development within a similar institution or with the creative industries. Knowledge of the internal administrative structures of higher education institutions would be an added bonus. Applicants should have a demonstrable track record of building successful partnerships with a range of creative actors, stakeholders and researchers from a wide disciplinary span including arts, humanities and STEM subjects.
The School of English and Drama is based on the Mile End Campus, a thriving area in the East of London. The post is an 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for twelve months, with an expected start date of October 2019. Starting salary will be grade 4 spinal point 31, £37,411 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
