Ravensbourne University London is an innovative and industry-focused digital media and design university located at the heart of London’s newest creative community on the Greenwich Peninsula.  Students study pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate level courses across the disciplines of fashion, television and broadcasting, product design, architecture, graphic design, photography, music and sound design and illustration.  Founded in 1959, and formerly known as Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, the institution was awarded university title by the Privy Council in May 2018.  Alumni include music legend David Bowie, fashion designer Stella McCartney, 2012 Olympic torch designer Jay Osgerby and Oscar winning producers Simon Egan and Gareth Ellis-Unwin. 

The Board of Governors are now seeking exceptional candidates to join the institution as Vice Chancellor.  The next years will be both exciting and challenging for Ravensbourne and this post will play a key role in ensuring the University can build on its successes and strengths and develop an ambitious vision for the future.  Candidates will be senior leaders with experience of higher education and an understanding of the challenges that face the sector, and small specialist institutions in particular.  The post-holder will need a proven ability to lead and inspire in a high quality academic and/or creative economy environment and will bring strategic nous, stature and compelling communication skills to the role.
